Death in Adam, Life in Christ - Romans 5:15-21
Oct 4, 2026 • Dan Donahue
The central theme of Romans Chapters 5-8 is believers in Christ have a hope of future glory and eternal life.
The first 11 verses of Chapter 5 provide the assurance of that future hope. Verses 1-11 serve as the metanarrative of the Gospel, namely, that the hope of those justified by faith will be saved from God’s wrath on the Day of Judgment by virtue of Christ’s substitutionary death on Calvary’s Cross. If verses 1-11 provide HOW we are saved, then verses 12-21 of Chapter 5 WHY we must be saved.
