The book of James teaches the timeless truth that Christians must put their faith into action. Knowing God's Word is not enough. We must apply that knowledge to our everyday life, not only in thought but in deed. This twelve-week study written by Dr. David Jeremiah challenges us to WALK IT, DON'T JUST TALK IT. Join us as we dig into this rich and encouraging study.

Meeting upstairs in room 214

This series examines what it means to be A Good Soldier of Jesus Christ - - - a challenge and exhortation from Paul to Timothy (2 Timothy 2:3). And a challenge and exhortation to believers today. We'll unpack sermons from Charles Spurgeon and J.C. Ryle on the topic. And we'll land in the book The Victorious Christian Soldier in Christ's Army written by 17th century theologian Urian Oakes. We'll examine these three sources, each with extensive scriptural support, to learn how we can be good soldiers. How we can soldier on until the end. Endure. Persevere. Triumph. For the Glory of God. And the good of those He's entrusted to us.

Meeting in room 212

Duration: 6 weeks - begins June 7th

Why does the New Testament have *those* 27 books? Why no more? Why no less? Does it matter what the Bible says if it doesn't have the right books? Was the Gospel of Thomas really removed by church officials, or was it never accepted as Scripture? What about the Gospels of Judas, Mary, and Peter? Do we have the right books? If so, how do we know?

Following the video series The New Testament Canon by Dr. Michael Kruger, we'll learn how and when the 27 books of the New Testament came to be, what makes these particular books special, why it all matters, and discuss how to apply this knowledge in our daily lives.

Led by: Mike Boots

Meeting in room 211

Exodus is an adventure story par excellence. It features a cruel villain (Pharaoh), an unlikely hero (Moses), overwhelming disasters (the plagues), a spectacular deliverance (crossing the Red Sea), a long journey (through the wilderness), a mountaintop experience (Moses received the Ten Commandments), and a grand finale (the presence of God coming down to the ark of the covenant, filling the tabernacle with glory). The story features unexpected setbacks and unpredictable delays, magic tricks (from Pharaoh's sorcerers) and miracles, and many close encounters with the living God. Join us for a verse-by-verse study of the Book of Exodus Part 1 (Chapters 1-18).
