our deacon Candidates

Peter Chodakowski

I live in Hampstead, NH with my wife, Correne, and our 5 kids. I have been involved in church since I was a child, but I was not saved until 1995 while on a mission trip in Kentucky. Since then, God has used me in many different ways - from serving on a worship team to helping with church strategy to directing youth group for over a decade.

We started attending Calvary back in 2022 after moving back home to NH from Iowa (thanks COVID!) and currently serve in Recharge, lead a small group, and I co-lead a mens’ study on Tuesday mornings. My passion is in teaching and mentoring, and I am excited to see how God will use me in whatever role I’m in.

Dave Darrone

I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY where I met my wife, Mary. We will celebrate our
45th wedding anniversary this year.

We have two daughters, Heather and Taylor, and have been blessed with two, terrific son-in-laws and seven grandchildren. I’ve been retired for six years following a varied and successful career in sales. We have lived in Londonderry for 28 years and made Calvary our home church from the start.

Raised a Methodist, it was not until the age of 45, while at Calvary, that I truly fell into a personal relationship with the Lord. I have participated in three mission trips, served in choir, mission commission, trustees, deacon board and currently serve on the Tech Team and Security Team.

Joan Van Geest

Raised in a Christian home in Gardner, MA, Jesus came into my heart at age 9. I lived in Minneapolis for 30+ years, raising a son, John and daughter, Sarah. My career in human resources eventually relocated me to Michigan for 3 years, and then to Derry 12 years ago.

With each job and life challenge, I felt guided by the Lord. I know that God’s timing was perfect, and I had to learn to be patient. I came to Calvary a few years ago feeling an immediate connection to the solid Bible teaching ministry and the CBC family. It was during a Discovery class that Pastor Chris spoke of Jesus and his trusted 12 disciples. He was making the connection that we also are to invest in creating our own trusted 12 so we support and uplift one another. This has encouraged me to participate in opportunities to connect to others -- life group, small group, praying, and other volunteer activities. I am studying, learning and growing more as a Christian and I look forward to seeing how the Lord plans to grow and expand the ministry at Calvary Bible Church.

Linda Grass

CBC has been my home church for almost three years. Teaching children God's Word
has been my passion for many years and I love serving in Children's Church at CBC.
Prayer, particularly corporate prayer, has long been a calling of mine. I’ve greatly
enjoyed being a part of LDA the past three years and praying in the prayer room with
attendees.

It is a great honor and privilege to be considered as a deacon at CBC and I
look forward to serving this church family and getting to know many more of you.
I have lived in Windham since 2019. I am a widow with two married daughters and two
grandsons. I live with my youngest daughter, son in law and two grandsons whom I
love taking care of while mom and dad work.

We have called Calvary Bible Church our home for 22yrs and we are grateful for the uncompromising preaching of the truth. I have served in various ministries including AWANA, VBS, LDA, Children’s Church and led Women’s Bible Studies.

Julie Kraft

I've been attending Calvary with my husband, JJ, and our sons, Finn and Russell for about 5 years.

I am thankful to work as an ESL teacher with a wonderful group of students. I came to know Jesus through my Sunday school teachers at West Congregational Church in Peabody, MA. At Calvary, I serve in Children's Church and as an Usher.

Sherry LeBlanc

I was born and raised in Lowell, MA and accepted Christ as my Savior at age 12 while visiting my sister in Alaska. My husband Jay and I have been married for 28 precious years, and this year marks 20 years attending Calvary! We live in East Hampstead, NH and have 4 children ages 16-21: Montgomery, Tony, Maddie, & Sam. I work as a special educator in Sandown.

Jay and I hosted a small group for many years, and I currently serve as a children’s church teacher and Heart-to-Heart mentor, and have led a women’s Bible study. I was thrilled to be a part of last summer’s Dominica mission trip and would be honored to be able to serve our church family as a deacon.

Ruth Merrill

I've been attending Calvary for 18 years and was saved 30 years ago. I've helped out with LDA, belong to a small group at The Hersoms and I also attend Senior Saints.

I served as the Business Manager at Calvary for 16 years. I've been a widow for five years and have 2 sons, Peter and Paul. My son Peter passed away eight years ago and my son Paul lives in Methuen. My son Paul has one child Jillian who is 19 and comes to church with me. I look forward to continuing to serve my church family as a Deacon.

Jennifer Quimpo

I became a believer and accepted Christ in 1994 through Campus Crusade for Christ (now CRU) at the University of Maine where I was studying Zoology and Psychology.  I have spent most of the last 19 years homeschooling and raising my son who just enlisted in the Navy.  I married Fred Quimpo in February 2024 and went from having 1 son to having 9 kids and 4 grandchildren in our blended family.

It has been a busy, but very amazing experience getting to know all of my "bonus kids" and loving on our grandkids.  I began attending Calvary Bible Church after our marriage, and became a member shortly after.  I currently teach at Fellowship Christian Academy and co-lead Divorce Care with my husband.  My desire has always been to go and do what God has for me; to be a part of what He is doing. That has included a variety of ministries over the 31 years since I became a believer and I look forward to the adventure of what is to come.

Mike Rheaume

My name is Michael Rheaume, and I was raised in Southern New Hampshire, living here throughout high school. For the past 25 years, my family and I have called East Derry home. In 2002, I met my beautiful wife, Amy, and we married in 2004. We are blessed with two sons: Kevin, 19, and Kole, 16. For over 27 years, I have worked in the Human Services field, assisting individuals with physical and mental challenges—a vocation I truly believe God has called me to.

Our family began attending Calvary Church a little over two years ago, and we've been blessed to become active members of this community. Currently, I serve on the Media and Tools Ministry teams, finding joy in helping wherever my Lord and Savior leads me. I am deeply honored to be considered for the role of deacon and look forward to seeing what God has in store for our church, my family, and me. With a heart full of gratitude and a spirit of service, I am eager to continue growing in faith and contributing to the mission of Calvary.
